Cost reimbursement by private health insurance

How to obtain the Mobi-Roll MR22 with a prescription – reimbursement by your private health insurance provider, accident insurance fund.

The Mobi-Roll MR22 is a certified medical device and is listed in the German Medical Aids Directory under:

➡ Medical aid number: 22.50.02.0002

✅ Private health insurance providers generally reimburse the rental costs upon submission of the prescription and our invoice.

❌ Optional equipment such as a seat, pneumatic tyres or holders may not be reimbursed.

❗ Important: Rent first – then apply for reimbursement!

A prescription or application alone is not sufficient.

➡ The Mobi-Roll will be delivered once an order has been placed and paid for in advance.

Reimbursement is subsequently provided by your private health insurance provider.

✅ Step-by-step guide to reimbursement

1. Rent the Mobi-Roll MR22 online

How to order:

  1. Open the “Rent” section.
  2. Select the model and any required accessories.
  3. Choose the rental period.
  4. Enter your address, email address and telephone number.
  5. Pay by advance bank transfer, PayPal or credit card.

🕐 Delivery generally takes one to three working days. Delays caused by the shipping service provider are outside our control.

📦 The package contains all the documents required by your insurance provider. These documents will also be sent to you by email.

2. Obtain a prescription from your doctor

Ask your doctor to issue a prescription containing the following information:

◉ Medical aid: Mobi-Roll MR22
◉ Medical aid number: 22.50.02.0002
◉ Rental period: At least four weeks
◉ Diagnosis and medical justification explaining why the Mobi-Roll is medically necessary

The following additional information on the prescription is very helpful:

A note from the doctor explaining why forearm crutches cannot be used or can only be used to a limited extent, for example due to:

◉ Wrist problems
◉ Shoulder problems
◉ Pain
◉ Balance problems

This helps prevent formal errors that could result in your reimbursement request being rejected.

3. Submit the documents to your insurance provider

You will receive the following from us:

  • An invoice covering the rental period
  • Product details
  • Medical aid number

➡ Submit all documents to your private insurance provider together with the original prescription.

As usual, any reimbursement will be paid directly to you.

🔁 Extending the rental period

  • The rental period can be extended at any time.
  • You will need a new prescription if you wish to apply for reimbursement for the extended period.
  • You can extend the rental easily through our website without logging in.

❗ What should you do if your insurance provider rejects the claim?

1. Submit an appeal: An informal appeal is often sufficient.

2. Submit a reasoned appeal: This is only necessary in rare cases.

Tip: Do not request a preliminary decision before receiving our documents, as this may reduce the likelihood of reimbursement.

Please note

Although we have had very positive experiences with reimbursement by health insurance providers and have successfully assisted our customers with more than 500 reimbursement cases, we cannot guarantee or influence full or partial reimbursement.

If your health insurance provider refuses to cover the costs, you will need to appeal against its decision. In most cases, the first appeal is successful. In a small number of cases, a second appeal may be necessary.

Unfortunately, insurance providers sometimes initially reject reimbursement requests without providing a clear reason. We therefore advise against requesting a preliminary decision independently before submitting the complete documentation, as incomplete preliminary enquiries may result in an unjustified rejection.
